At London in England, the blessed martyrs Thomas Green, priest, and Walter Pierson, monk, of the Charterhouse of that city, who, when King Henry the Eighth claimed for himself supreme authority in ecclesiastical matters, withstood him; shut up in a foul prison and overcome by hunger and squalor, they nevertheless died gloriously.
