At Carthage, the heavenly birthday of the holy Scillitan Martyrs, namely Speratus, Nartzalus, Cittinus, Veturius, Felix, Aquilinus, Laetantius, Januaria, Generosa, Vestia, Donata, and Secunda, who by order of the proconsul Saturninus, after their first confession of Christ, were cast into prison and on the following day fastened to the rack. When at last they firmly confessed themselves Christians and refused to render divine honor to the emperor, they were condemned to death; and at the place of execution, kneeling with one accord and giving thanks to Christ, they were beheaded with the sword.
