Blessed Sadoc and Companions, Martyrs of Sandomierz

At Sandomierz on the Vistula river in Poland, the blessed martyrs Sadoc, priest, and his companions of the Order of Preachers, who, as is reported, were slain by the Tartars while they were singing the antiphon “Salve Regina,” greeting the Mother of Life herself in their last hour.

Sandomiírii ad Vístulam flumen in Polónia, beatórum mártyrum Sadóchi, presbyteri, et sociórum ex Ordine Prazdicatórum, qui, ut fertur, a l’ártaris necáti sunt, dum antíphonam canébant «Salve Regína», ipsam Matrem Vitze 1n extrémus salutántes.
