Saint Protus and Hyacinth, Martyrs

At Rome in the cemetery of Basilla on the Old Salarian Way, the burial of the holy martyrs Protus and Hyacinth, whom Pope Saint Damasus, restoring their tombs that had been hidden in the earth, adorned with verses. In the same place, nearly fifteen centuries later, the intact sepulchre of Saint Hyacinth and his cremated body were once again discovered.

Rome in coemetério Basíllz via Salária Vétere, deposítio sanctórum mártyrum Proti et Hyacinthi, quos sanctus Dámasus papa, eórum táümulos terra recónditos restítuens, vérsibus exornávit. Ibídem, fere quíndecim post séculis, dénuo sancti Hyacínthi intáctum sepülcrum corpüsque cremátum 1invéntum est.
