In a marsh by the village of Dongyangtai near Shenxian in the Chinese province of Hebei, Saints Peter Zhao Mingzhen and John Baptist Zhao Mingxi, martyrs, who, being brothers, in the persecution stirred up by the followers of the Yihetuan sect, heedless of their own safety while sheltering Christian women and children who were fleeing, were slain by their enemies.
