At Saint-Gilles in Provence, Blessed Peter of Castelnau, priest and martyr, who, having entered the Cistercian monastery of Fontfroide, was appointed by Pope Innocent III to preach peace and to instruct the faith in Provence, and was struck down by heretics, pierced through by a lance.
