The commemoration of Saint Nicetas, bishop of Remesiana in Dacia, whom Saint Paulinus of Nola praises in verse, because he had taught the Gospel to barbarians made into sheep and had led them into the sheepfolds of peace, and because men once untaught and brigands had learned to make Christ resound with a Roman heart.
