The commemoration of Saint Moses the prophet, whom God chose to free his people, oppressed in Egypt, and to lead them into the land of promise; to whom also he revealed himself on Mount Sinai, saying, “I am who I am,” and set forth the law that would govern the life of the chosen people. That servant of God died, full of days, on Mount Nebo in the land of Moab, within sight of the promised land.
