At Rome in the cemetery of Priscilla on the Via Salaria Nova, the burial of Saint Marcellus I, pope, who, as Saint Damasus relates, was a truthful shepherd. Grievously harassed by the lapsed, who spurned the penance he had appointed, and shamefully denounced to the tyrant, he was driven from his homeland and died in exile.
