Off Rochefort on the coast of France, on a squalid ship moored at sea, Blessed Louis-Armand-Joseph Adam, of the Order of Friars Minor Conventual, and Barthélemy Jarrige de la Morélie de Biars, priests and martyrs, who, while persecution raged against the Church, were condemned to the prison-ships on account of their priesthood; stricken by contagion and made victims of their charity toward their fellow captives, they died.
