At Constantinople, Saint John Calybites, who, as is related, lived for a time in a secluded part of his father’s house, and afterwards in a «kalyba», that is, a hut, wholly given over to contemplation and hidden from the sight of his own parents; by whom, only after his death, he was recognized from the golden book of the Gospels which they had given to their son.
