Blessed Jacques Retouret

On the strait off Rochefort on the coast of France, Blessed Jacques Retouret, priest of the Order of Carmelites and martyr, who, amid the raging of the French Revolution, was dragged from the convent of Limoges onto a squalid prison ship, where, left through the night with scant clothing, he died of cold.

In freto apud Rupifórtium ad litus Gálliz, beáti Iacóbi Retouret, presbyteri ex Ordine Carmelitárum et mártyris, qui, gállica perturbatióne grassánte, de convéntu Lemovicénsi in squálidam corbítam tractus est, ubi nocte paucis cum vestiméntis relíctus frígore óbiit.
