The passion of the blessed martyrs Ignatius de Azevedo, priest, and thirty-eight companions of the Society of Jesus, who, while seeking the missions of Brazil aboard a ship named Santiago, were overpowered by a pirate vessel and, in hatred of the Catholic religion, were run through with sword and lance.
