On Mount Olympus in Bithynia, Saint George Limniotes, monk, who, having rebuked the impious Emperor Leo III for breaking the sacred images and burning the relics of the saints, for this cause, by the emperor’s order, had his nostrils cut off and his head burned, and so passed to the Lord as a martyr.
