At York in England, Blessed George Douglas, priest and martyr, who, a Scot by birth and made a priest at Paris after being a schoolmaster, under Queen Elizabeth the First, because he had persuaded others to embrace the Catholic faith, passed victorious into heaven through the torments of the gallows.
