In the city of Fu’an in the province of Fujian in China, Saint Francis Fernández de Capillas, priest of the Order of Preachers and martyr, who, having carried the name of Christ to the Philippine Islands and to Fujian, was there long held in custody during the persecution of the Tartars and at last beheaded.
