Saint Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord

Saint · Common of feasts-of-the-lord

The Transfiguration of the Lord, in which Christ Jesus, the Only-Begotten Son beloved of the eternal Father, manifested his glory before the holy Apostles Peter, James, and John, with the Law and the Prophets bearing witness, that in the humility of the servile form he had taken to himself he might signify our glorious restoration through grace, and that the image of God, according to which man was created — though corrupted in Adam, yet reformed in Christ — might be proclaimed to the ends of the earth.
