In the roadstead near Rochefort off the coast of France, Blessed Charles Nicolas Antoine Ancel, priest of the Society of Jesus and Mary and martyr, who, during the time of the French Revolution, was inhumanely detained aboard a prison ship because he was a priest, and, stricken by a grievous pestilence, completed his martyrdom.
