Saint Bridget, religious, who in Sweden was given in marriage to Ulf, a lawman, and most piously brought up the eight children she bore, stirring her husband himself by word and example to piety. After his death she made pilgrimages to many holy places and, having left behind writings on the mystical reform of the head and members of the Church and laid the foundations of the Order of the Most Holy Savior, she passed to heaven at Rome.
