At Chelles on the Marne in the region of Paris in France, Saint Bathild, who, as queen, founded monasteries under the Rule of Saint Benedict after the manner of Luxeuil. After the death of her husband Clovis II she took up the government of the Frankish kingdom, and, when her son came to reign, she passed her last years under the full rule of religious life.
