On a ship at anchor in the roadstead off the port of Rochefort in France, Blessed Antoine-Constant Auriel, priest and martyr, who, parish vicar of Cahors, during the upheaval of the French Revolution was confined on account of his priesthood in a squalid ship; soon seized by disease, he gave up his spirit while caring for his fellow captives.
