In the village of Liugongying near Znping in the province of Hebei in China, Saints Anna An Xinzhi, Mary An Guozhi, Anna An Jiaozhi, and Mary An Lihua, virgins and martyrs, who, since they could in no way be induced to defect to impiety, were beheaded in the persecution of the followers of the “Yihetuan” (Boxers).
