At Ptolemais (Acre) in Palestine, Saint Albert, bishop, who, transferred from the Church of Vercelli to that of Jerusalem, handed down a rule to the hermits of Mount Carmel and, while celebrating the feast of the Holy Cross, was slain with a sword by a wicked man whom he had rebuked.
