At Yanzibian near Yangpingguan in China, Saint Alberic Crescitelli, priest of the Pontifical Institute for Foreign Missions and martyr, who, in the persecution by the followers of the “Yihetuan” sect, was beaten almost to death; on the following day, with his feet bound, he was dragged along a flint-paved path to the river, where he was cut to pieces and at last beheaded, and so was crowned with martyrdom.

Apud Yanzibian prope Yangpingguan in Sinis, sancti Alberíci Crescitelli, presbyteri e Pontifício Institáto pro Missiónibus éxteris et mártyris, qui, in persecutióne sectatórum « Yihetuan», acérrime fere ad mortem percüssus, sequénti die ligátis pédibus per callem sílice stratum ad flumen raptátus, ibi minütim concísus et tandem decollátus, martyrio coronátus est.
