At Clermont in Aquitaine, Saint Abraham, monk, who, born on the bank of the river Euphrates, betook himself to Egypt to visit the hermits, but, seized by the pagans, was held in chains for five years; afterward he came into Gaul among the Arverni, where he withdrew into the monastery of Saint Cyricus and died full of days.
